MIAMI

Visit The Home of cuban culture in the USA and one of the Most beautiful cities in America

Miami, one of the most diverse cities in the world, has so many trends happening at the same time that visitors can sometimes feel overwhelmed.  As Miami natives we are happy to help you sample a taste of our favorite things to do in this ever changing place, and can of course create more opportunities based on your particular interests.

The city of Miami itself covers about 56 square miles between Biscayne Bay to the east, the Everglades to the west, and the Keys to the South.  In short Miami offers world class beaches, a culinary extravaganza, unlimited music venues, every kind of outdoor opportunity and of course Little Havana.

THE EVERGLADES & UPPER KEYS

The Everglades National Park is known for its abundant wildlife including the endangered Florida Panther, West Indian Manatee and the Leatherback Turtle.  The National Park protects an unparalleled landscape providing important habitat for numerous rare species. From the fun of bicycling down Shark Valley, to watching or photographing an entire flock of Roseate Spoonbills, or silently canoeing/kayaking into the vegetation of the Glades, this preservation is one that is truly worth embracing and exploring.

Key Largo is the first of the Florida Keys from the mainland, and has often been proclaimed the Dive Capital of the world. This area has a unique combination of both one of the largest natural coral reefs and certainly the largest and most beautiful artificial reef in existence at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park with the dual shipwrecks of the African Queen steam cruiser and the 510 foot USS Spiegel Grove. This is an area that caters to nature enthusiasts, scuba divers, photographers, and really anyone looking for opportunities to be active or to relax in the pleasant climate year-round.

DAY #1

Arrive to Miami and check in to your chosen hotel.

Properly embracing south Florida means taking a splash into the warm waters off Miami beach, a great way to begin your vacation. The always warm weather of Miami will ensure you enjoy the experience any time of year. There are also a wide variety of shops and cafes lining the streets of South Beach for you to visit after your swim.

If you do not wish to go swimming right away, you can head out for an authentic walking tour of Little Havana.  Get involved with the culture, the food, and of course see how Cuban cigars are rolled.  (This is a fun three hour walking tour, with a local guide) ** The tour can also be done on bicycles** Some further exploration of the shops in the area is a treat and can be how you spend the rest of your afternoon if you chose this option.

Dinner recommendations are available. (Today’s activities are based on arrival time).

DAY #2

This late morning head over to the Wynwood neighborhood for an experience that will certainly leave you satisfied both in terms of the culinary and art offerings.

Beginning at 12:30pm- You will have two and a half hours of fun sampling mouthwatering dishes and the unique art walls and graffiti during your time with your private tour guide.  Stay afterwards and take advantage of a number of fun breweries, decadent donut, or award-winning pie shops, all within walking distance and all of which merit your exploration.

5:30pm - This evening enjoy kayaking along the beautiful downtown Miami skyline as you weave through the Miami river channels amongst the skyscrapers to observe the sunset and the relaxation it offers.  These two hours allow you to experience the magic city with soft ocean breezes, a kaleidoscope of colors, and an experienced guide.

DAY #3

This early morning will take you out to the Everglades National Park. Only 50 minutes away from Miami proper, the Everglades are a 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve often compared to a grassy, slow-moving river. Everglades National Park is made up of coastal mangroves, saw-grass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of special animal species.

During your visit to the park, we will assist in making recommendations and setting up the activities that most entice you.  We are on board with helping set up any sort of adventure tour you prefer, whether it involve hiking, air boating, fishing, camping, canoeing, bicycling or other activities.

Days in the Everglades are often long as you’ll want to take in as much as you possibly can.  If you are not camping at this location, we encourage you to spend the evening in one of our recommended hotels prior to leaving in the morning to the Upper Keys.

DAY #4

This morning before leaving the area and traveling to the Upper Keys, make a stop at one of our favorite spots for some baked delicacies that will give you enough energy for the drive.  These sweet treats are not to be missed.

Arrive at your Hotel or camp site in the Upper Keys.

The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy some relaxation or swim time.

Restaurant recommendations are available for dinner if you’re staying in town, or we can recommend other activities if you decide to camp.

DAYS #5-6

While these days can be flexible, you simply can’t be in the Upper Keys and not spend some time visiting John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.  Considered the first undersea park in the U.S, there is plenty to do here for the whole family.  Everything from glass bottom boat cruises, to snorkeling, diving, deep sea fishing, paddle-boarding and kayaking are readily available here. There is just so much to do, we can’t wait to share it with you.
